When to Pick Which

Mobile vs. shop service.

We're transparent — sometimes mobile is the right call, sometimes it isn't. Here's how we think about it.

Mobile is ideal for

  • Routine maintenance
  • Minor repairs
  • Spring commissioning
  • Boats that can't be trailered

Shop is better for

  • Major engine work
  • Repower
  • Fiberglass repair
  • Winterization & storage
  • Extensive electronics installs
Common Questions

Frequently asked questions.

What's your mobile service area?
Marblehead, Port Clinton, Catawba Island, Lakeside / Danbury Township, Sandusky area, and seasonally Kelley's Island and Put-in-Bay. Not sure if we cover your spot? Call us — if it's close, we'll work something out.
How much does mobile service cost vs. bringing the boat in?
Mobile service includes a trip charge based on distance plus standard hourly labor. For routine work near our facility, the difference is minimal. For boats that can't be trailered or where a haul-out costs more than the trip charge, mobile actually saves you money.
Can you do a full engine service at my dock?
Most of it. Oil changes, impeller replacement, plug/filter changes, battery and electrical work, and most diagnostics happen at your dock. Major work — top-end rebuilds, lower-unit pulls, fiberglass — needs the shop.
How quickly can you respond to a breakdown?
During peak season we prioritize emergency breakdowns based on location and shop capacity. We can't guarantee same-day, but we make every effort to fit urgent calls within 24 hours. Call (419) 357-5891.
Do you service boats at Put-in-Bay and Kelley's Island?
Yes — seasonally during summer. Trip planning is required because of ferry logistics, so we bundle island calls when possible. Contact us early to schedule.
